On Nov 7, POWERCHINA completed the installation of the first wind turbine and the pouring of foundations for all 16 turbines on the Uzbekistan Nukus 100MW Wind Power Project. These achievements mark two critical construction milestones, laying a solid foundation for subsequent project fulfillment and strongly supporting efforts to connect the project to the grid.

The project is Uzbekistan's first IPP (Independent Power Producer) wind project. Located in the Karakalpakstan region, approximately 70 kilometers southeast of Nukus, the project will have a total installed capacity of 104 MW. It comprises 16 ENVISION 6.5 MW turbines, a 35 kilovolt booster station, a 220 kV system station, and 2×15.6 km of 220 kV transmission lines.

As one of the country's key renewable energy projects, it will drive Uzbekistan's energy transition, significantly reduce natural gas consumption and carbon emissions, and alleviate local power shortages, contributing to economic growth and industrial advancement.
