As of the end of October, the Barisal Power Plant in Bangladesh, which POWERCHINA invested in, constructed, and operates, has achieved an annual cumulative power generation of over 1.6 billion kilowatt-hours. This milestone critically supports industrial development and residential electricity demand in southern Bangladesh.

Since being commissioned, the power plant has ensured its safe production while optimizing generation strategies and enhancing power output, significantly contributing to Bangladesh's economic and social development.

As the first IPP (independent power producer) power project in Bangladesh financed, constructed, and operated by a Chinese company, the plant has steadily increased its annual power generation since commercial operation began in 2023. In its first year, the plant generated 1.06 billion kWh of electricity. This year, it reached a record-breaking annual generation of over 1.6 billion kWh, continuously injecting stable "green energy" into the local economy and livelihood development.
