Unit 2 of the Ulog Hydropower Plant in the republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina – built by POWERCHINA – was connected to the national grid on Nov 27, paving the way for its full-scale commercial operations.

The Ulog Hydropower Plant is POWERCHINA's first hydropower EPC – engineering, procurement and construction – project in the European market.

Designed as a dual-purpose power station, its primary function is as power generation, while also supporting downstream ecological water needs.

The project has a total installed electricity generating capacity of 35.7 megawatts. It has a concrete double-curvature arch dam, an ecological flow mini-power station, a right-bank diversion tunnel and a water diversion power generation system.

On completion, the power station is expected to significantly boost the local power supply, drive Bosnia and Herzegovina’s energy transition, improve environmental conditions and further bolster the POWERCHINA brand.
