As of Dec 14, the Myanmar Thaketa gas-fired combined cycle power plant, built by POWERCHINA, achieved a cumulative grid power output of 730 million kilowatt-hours, completing the 2024 annual power generation target 17 days ahead of schedule.

In 2024, POWERCHINA focused closely on the annual generation goals, intensifying inspections of power plant units and using downtime to eliminate defects and maintain the plants in an orderly manner, significantly enhancing the plant's operational efficiency.

The plant began operations in February 2018. Under the meticulous management of POWERCHINA, the plant has exceeded its annual generation targets for six consecutive years, setting new records in power output with a cumulative total exceeding 5.63 billion kWh. This achievement enhances the brand recognition and competitiveness of POWERCHINA's services in Myanmar's power market.
