In December, four transmission lines from the Bangladeshi Power Grid Upgrading and Renovation Turnkey Project, undertaken by POWERCHINA, were energized, marking a significant milestone in the project's construction progress.

The project aims to enhance Bangladesh's power supply stability and capacity to meet growing electricity demand. The project includes constructing, expanding, upgrading, and renovating nearly 100 substations, over 1,000 kilometers of transmission lines at 400 kilovolts, 230 kV, and 132 kV levels, and seven regional inspection and maintenance centers within the Bangladesh Power Grid Company's jurisdiction.

The four 132-kV DC transmission lines energized between Dec 3 and 23 are subprojects and key components of the power infrastructure in Bangladesh's Rajshahi and Khulna regions.  Completing these lines provides more stable and reliable electricity to surrounding areas, benefiting many residents and businesses while optimizing the power distribution capacity of the regional grid.
