The president of DR Congo inspects the Kananga-Kalambambuji road project.
On Dec 25, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo), and senior officials inspected the Kananga-Kalambambuji Road Project undertaken by POWERCHINA. The project is a key infrastructure initiative under the China-DRC cooperation framework.
The delegation visited the stone crushing production line and the living and production camps of the construction team. They inquired about the arrival of construction equipment and the staffing arrangements for the Chinese and Congolese employees. President Tshisekedi emphasized the road's significant importance, calling it a "road of hope" for DR Congo.
As a critical transportation artery linking the border cities of Angola and DR Congo, the Kananga-Kalambambuji Road Project holds far-reaching significance for regional development. Upon completion, the project is expected to significantly improve transport efficiency and boost economic and trade exchanges.
The project involves restoring and upgrading approximately 230 kilometers of road, covering subgrade, pavement, protective works, and auxiliary facilities. It is funded by a joint venture established by POWERCHINA and DR Congo's State-owned mining company.
