From Jan 9 to 10, Kenyan President William Ruto inspected two POWERCHINA projects: the Kipkundul-Kapyego-Kamelei Road Upgrade Project in Elgeyo Marakwet County and the Kipchoge Keino Stadium Project.
During the inspection, President Ruto received a detailed briefing and commended POWERCHINA for its progress and performance capabilities. He expressed high confidence in POWERCHINA's performance capabilities and emphasized that the advancement of these two projects reflects the nation's growing comprehensive strength and the collective efforts of all builders.
The stadium project will significantly enhance the training environment for athletes, enrich local cultural and recreational life, and further improve Kenya's public infrastructure.
He praised POWERCHINA's efficiency and quality in previous Kenyan projects. He expressed confidence in the company's technical and managerial expertise as a world-class contractor and believed it would deliver another exemplary project for Kenya.
The road project will facilitate the transportation of local agricultural products and contribute to regional economic development.
The stadium project involves upgrading the existing stadium into a FIFA-standard professional football stadium that can accommodate 15,000 people. The project will provide critical infrastructure support for Kenya's hosting of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, significantly enhancing the training environment for athletes, enriching the local cultural and recreational life, and injecting robust momentum into the country's sports development.
