POWERCHINA recently signed the EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) contract for the Round 5 MAS and AHK2 Solar Photovoltaic (PV) projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The MAS and AHK2 projects, which are among the four sub-projects under Saudi Arabia's Round 5 National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), have total installed capacities of 1,250 megawatts and 500 MW, respectively.

The projects encompass the design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of the photovoltaic power plants and supporting facilities.

Upon completion, the projects are expected to generate 4.4 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, providing green, stable energy to approximately 550,000 local households. It will also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2.88 million metric tons, contributing to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goal of building a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient national energy system.
