The UAE Etihad Rail freight terminal project.
The six Dubai Industrial City (DIC) freight facilities of the UAE Etihad Rail freight terminal project, constructed by POWERCHINA, passed inspection and were handed over to the client on Feb 5, marking the project's transition into the warranty period.
The UAE Etihad Rail freight terminal is part of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) railway network, which connects Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, and Oman. The project includes six stations, 46 kilometers of railway and substructure construction, a major cross-sea railway bridge, railway freight logistics, and loading facilities. It also provides water supply and drainage systems, track works, building construction, landscaping, and electrical installations.
The handover marks a significant milestone, signifying the construction's completion and the delivery of POWERCHINA's first railway project in the UAE. This achievement strengthens POWERCHINA's presence in the UAE market and lays a solid foundation for further expansion in the Middle East.
