Cameroon road opens to traffic

Updated: February 20,2025

The Njole-Mankim Road Project in Cameroon, undertaken by POWERCHINA, is now open to traffic.

The project, which stretches 36.7 kilometers through dense rainforest, faced significant challenges, including prolonged rainy seasons and complex terrain. POWERCHINA ensured the road's timely completion by improving construction methods.

The opening of the Njole-Mankim Road marks a major improvement in local transportation. Connecting several key towns, the road ends years of community travel difficulties.

Narrow and pothole-ridden roads previously resulted in slow travel and high transport costs. Now, smooth and wide roadways allow for easier travel, more efficient timber and agricultural transportation, and reduced living costs. The project has significantly enhanced the quality of life for residents, earning widespread praise while injecting new momentum into regional economic growth and social development. It also serves as a model for infrastructure development in Africa.
