Peru's President Dina Boluarte Zegarra, Minister of Education Morgan Quero Gaime, and other government officials attended the inauguration ceremony of Educational Institution No 14858, Our Lady of Fatima School, on Feb 21. The school, constructed by POWERCHINA, is part of the ANIN (National Infrastructure Authority) School Project Package No 7.
In her speech, the President emphasized that the modern educational facility sets a benchmark for upgrading Peru's basic educational infrastructure. The Governor of Piura also highlighted POWERCHINA's social responsibility projects during construction, such as community road repairs and educational material donations, demonstrating the company's ability to create comprehensive value.
The school covers an area of 3,830 square meters and is equipped with 18 multimedia classrooms and standardized sports facilities. It also uses an intelligent shading system ideal for Piura's high-temperature environment. POWERCHINA used BIM technology to digitally control the construction process, adopting environmentally friendly materials and seismic-resistant structural design. The Peruvian National Building Standards Committee certified several technical indicators.
Peru was severely impacted by the El Nino phenomenon in 2017, with extensive damage to educational facilities in Piura Province. The ANIN School Project Package No 7, as a core project in Peru's post-disaster reconstruction plan, includes the planning, design, and construction of 11 modern schools. POWERCHINA has handed over 10 schools ahead of schedule, rebuilding educational spaces for more than 6,000 students.
