The Poland Krosno Reservoir Project, built by POWERCHINA, recently received its performance certificate, marking the successful completion of all tests and the fulfillment of all contractual obligations.

Completed in April 2023, the project effectively withstood Poland's once-in-a-century flood in September 2024, playing a crucial role in flood control and earning POWERCHINA widespread praise from the owner, local government authorities, and residents.

Located in Lower Silesia, Poland, the project is owned by the Wrocław Regional Water Management Authority and funded by the World Bank. Designed with a storage capacity of 1.9 million cubic meters, the project involved the construction of a 452-meter-long roller-compacted earth dam with a maximum embankment height of 14 meters.

Key structures include a floodgate, spillway, sedimentation basin, drainage culverts, and an office building. Through effective contract execution and management, POWERCHINA secured four supplementary agreements with the owner.

Despite challenges during the construction, POWERCHINA optimized construction techniques, completed the main dam embankment one month ahead of schedule, and ensured the project's on-site work was completed within the contractual timeline.

POWERCHINA adhered to the goal of delivering a world-class international project by implementing stringent quality management standards. To meet Poland’s environmental protection requirements, the project engaged a professional environmental assessment company for real-time site monitoring, with environmental reports submitted monthly to the supervising engineer.

Additionally, POWERCHINA demonstrated corporate social responsibility by actively participating in local social welfare initiatives. Efforts included continuous charitable donations to local orphans and organizing specialized safety education programs at local elementary schools.
