POWERCHINA seeks further cooperation with Kenya

On April 23, Wang Xiaojun, vice-president of POWERCHINA, met with William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, during the President's official visit to China. The meeting was marked by friendly discussions aimed at advancing bilateral cooperation.

William  Ruto commended POWERCHINA's significant role in Kenya's infrastructure development, highlighting its contribution to economic and social progress. The President noted that the Kenya-China comprehensive strategic cpartnership, has been progressing steadily, providing substantial momentum for Kenya's development. 

H.E. President Ruto encouraged POWERCHINA to use its global, diversified, and specialized strengths to participate more extensively in high-quality projects within Kenya's infrastructure and energy sectors, vital for enhancing the Kenyan people's well-being. 

He assured that the Kenyan government would continue to foster a conducive environment for businesses, aiming to elevate the Kenya-China comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights.

Wang expressed gratitude to William Ruto and the Kenyan government for their trust and support. He outlined POWERCHINA's global development strategy and its operations in Kenya. Wang emphasized that the deepening comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kenya provides valuable opportunities and a solid foundation for enhanced cooperation across various domains.

He underscored Kenya's strategic importance as a key hub for the Belt and Road Initiative and a crucial market for POWERCHINA in Africa. POWERCHINA is committed to utilizing its integrated industry chain advantages to innovate cooperation models with the Kenyan government and related enterprises.

Wang added that POWERCHINA aims to intensify collaborative efforts to plan, build, and share more high-quality projects, contributing to Kenya's "Vision 2030" and sustainable development goals.
