The project is a flagship collaboration between China and Angola and a model project under the Belt and Road Initiative. With a daily water intake capacity of 570,000 metric tons, it will become the largest water intake system in Angola and sub-Saharan Africa.
The project is set to provide clean water to approximately 5 million residents in eastern Luanda and is expected to create thousands of jobs during its construction phase. This initiative is poised to significantly boost local economic and social development, enhancing the well-being of the community.
