On May 6, POWERCHINA commissioned the camp and office facilities for the Saudi Aramco MGS Gas Compression Station Phase III Project.

The project team prioritized cost reduction and efficiency by optimizing organization. During fence construction, a survey revealed hard soil with a low settlement coefficient, allowing the team to use a direct burial method for the fence posts. This method met design requirements while reducing costs and saving time compared to the original concrete foundation plan.

After consulting with the owner, the team implemented a single-layer paving solution for the camp’s asphalt roads, ensuring road strength and reducing costs.

Construction at the project site is progressing smoothly, with the Chinese management camp expected to be operational by May 15. Of the total 3,860,000 cubic meters of earthwork required for site leveling and backfilling, 680,350 cubic meters have been completed, accounting for 18 percent.

The project will take 44 months to complete. It is a significant component of the East-to-West Gas Pipeline Project expansion in Saudi Arabia. It will greatly enhance the pipeline's daily gas transmission capacity, fulfilling the gas demands for King Abdullah Economic City and several large gas power plant projects in western Saudi Arabia.

The project will also significantly reduce the region's reliance on oil energy, playing a crucial role in promoting economic development, enhancing Saudi Arabia's oil export capacity, and improving environmental quality.
