Poland Excavation and Expansion of Channels in Wroclaw Floodway System Project constructed by POWERCHINA.
POWERCHINA has completed the Construction Project of A Dry Flood Control Reservoir on Bystrzyca Dusznicka River in Szalejów and Krosonowice, Poland, following earlier work on the Poland Excavation and Expansion of Channels in Wroclaw Floodway System Project.
These reservoirs, located in the canyon area of Kłodzko, Wrocław province, are integral to the region's flood prevention strategy.
The Szalejów Reservoir has a design capacity of 10.67 million cubic meters and includes a 734-meter main dam and a 288-meter auxiliary dam, reaching a maximum height of 20 meters. The Krosnowice Reservoir, with a capacity of 1.9 million cubic meters, features a 452-meter main dam that reaches a height of 14 meters.
POWERCHINA has integrated eco-friendly practices, such as ecological embankments and wetland restoration, to protect rare species and habitats within the Natura 2000 area.
The company's commitment to quality management was recognized with an award at Poland's 2023 Modernization and 21st Century Construction Competition. In September 2024, the reservoirs withstood a century-scale flood, safeguarding lives and property.
The project team has also fostered strong community relations by engaging with residents and employees and participating in cultural exchanges, such as celebrating traditional festivals. The team also made significant contributions to community development by repairing facilities and supporting orphans.
POWERCHINA has built a bridge of friendship between China and Poland, exemplifying a commitment to cooperation and a shared future, as well as supporting the Belt and Road Initiative.
