POWERCHINA participates in celebrating 30 years of China-Bosnia and Herzegovina diplomatic relations.

POWERCHINA's representative office was invited to a seminar marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on May 14 in Sarajevo. The event focused on strengthening friendships, fostering practical cooperation, and promoting mutual development.

Marinko Čavara, deputy speaker of the House of Representatives at the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, commended the robust cooperation between China and BiH over the past three decades. He emphasized the substantial economic benefits brought by Chinese investments, particularly in infrastructure and energy.

Čavara highlighted the Ivovik Wind Power Project and the Herzegovina Bridge Project, both constructed by POWERCHINA, as exemplary models of Sino-BiH collaboration.

Liu Zhidong, POWERCHINA’s representative in BiH, noted that the company entered the BiH market in 2012. Using its expertise in water and electricity, planning and design, construction, and investment operations, POWERCHINA implemented three landmark projects, contributing to the country's energy and infrastructure development.

Liu added that POWERCHINA is dedicated to maintaining high standards and quality in engineering projects while adhering to ESG principles through community engagement, educational support, and infrastructure improvements, enhancing local social harmony and development.

The three projects encompass the hydropower, renewable energy, and transportation sectors: the Hydro Power Plant Ulog contributes approximately 82.34 GWh annually to BiH's sustainable development goals; the Ivovik Wind Power Project is expected to provide approximately 259 million kWh of green electricity annually, making it the largest new energy generation project in Bosnia and Herzegovina; and the Herzegovina Bridge, the country's longest, represents the first bridge construction by a Chinese company in BiH and serves as a pivotal project in the Pan-European Corridor 5C highway.
