Wang Bin delivers a speech at ICOLD Congress.
From May 16 to 21, Chengdu, Sichuan province, hosted the 28th Congress and 93rd Annual Meeting of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD). Wang Bin, President of POWERCHINA, was invited to attend and participate in a series of business activities.
In his speech at the international seminar, Wang emphasized POWERCHINA's steadfast commitment to the water management philosophy of "prioritizing water conservation, balancing spatial distribution, systematic governance, and dual efforts".
He noted that POWERCHINA has completed numerous hydropower projects across the world, evolving from "Made in China" to "Intelligently Made in China".
Wang expressed POWERCHINA's readiness to engage in open collaboration and outlined several initiatives, including promoting green development, driving technical innovation, and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.
At the "Pumped Storage Power Station Development and Prospects" seminar, Wang offered three strategic recommendations to enhance the high-quality development of pumped storage.
During discussions with ICOLD President Michel Lino and newly elected President Devendra Kumar Sharma, Wang highlighted POWERCHINA's eagerness to deepen collaboration with ICOLD to advance sustainable development in the water sector. They also exchanged insights on international standards and technical cooperation within the industry.
