Kabwe Solar Energy Project in Zambia.
POWERCHINA has signed a contract with Zambia's Kariba North Bank Extension Power Corporation for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the 100 MW Kabwe Solar Energy Project, marking its first major solar O&M venture in the African market.
The project, situated in Zambia's Central province, is the largest single-unit solar installation in the country. O&M encompasses intelligent inspection, optimization of power generation efficiency, module cleaning, fault diagnosis, safety management, and local staff training, with the contract set for five years.
This agreement represents a significant milestone for POWERCHINA, expanding its presence and capabilities in the renewable energy sector. By implementing a "construction + O&M" model, the project offers comprehensive support for Zambia's ongoing energy transition.
It will provide robust technical support for the Kabwe Solar Energy Project, reinforce POWERCHINA's leadership in Zambia's renewable energy market, and enhance the stability of local clean energy supply, accelerating the country's shift towards sustainable energy solutions.
