POWERCHINA made a notable appearance at the China-Africa Power and New Energy Development Cooperation, Exchange, and Matchmaking Conference, held from June 12 to 13 in Yueyang, Hunan province.

The event was a significant part of the Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo.

Wang Bin, president of POWERCHINA, delivered a keynote speech at the launch ceremony, underscoring the crucial role of energy and power in China-Africa cooperation.

Wang said that POWERCHINA has established a presence in nearly every African country over the past 60 years, constructing more than 100 GW of power projects. These efforts have improved the security, stability, sustainability, and affordability of Africa's energy and power sectors, while also fostering a transition towards low-carbon, clean, and green energy solutions.

Wang added that POWERCHINA is committed to enhancing its collaboration with African partners and global industry stakeholders to develop a "clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient" new energy system. This initiative aims to support Africa's industrialization and modernization endeavors.

The power and new energy matchmaking event, co-organized by POWERCHINA, was the only specialized event held that focused on energy and power. POWERCHINA also signed several project cooperation agreements, reinforcing its dedication to sustainable development across Africa.
