POWERCHINA receives appreciation from the local government for its voluntary efforts in refurbishing roads.
The Rwanda Nyabarongo River II Hydroelectric Power Station Project, undertaken by POWERCHINA, was lauded by the Rwandan government on June 24 for its voluntary efforts in refurbishing local roads.
Commending the project team's philanthropic endeavors, the government emphasized, "The project team delivered top-notch engineering construction and enhanced the infrastructure of neighboring communities, showcasing a genuine spirit of collaboration."
This pivotal project, which is still underway, is crucial in addressing Rwanda’s electricity shortfalls. The project has embraced social responsibilities by establishing a dedicated team, immersing itself in local dynamics, fostering robust communication with the government and residents, and spearheading various voluntary road repair initiatives in the vicinity.
A resident expressed his delight, saying, "These once muddy roads have been transformed into smooth pathways, facilitating the expedited transportation of my agricultural produce to the Kigali market!"
The extensive road repair efforts, which have spanned nearly seven months, involved the project team deploying their own dump trucks to support the government. Over 20 kilometers of roads have been revitalized, benefiting more than 15 villages along the route.
