Wang Xiaojun, vice-president of POWERCHINA, was invited to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Energy Ministers Meeting, held on June 26 in Ningbo, Zhejiang province.
Wang delivered a speech at a parallel forum, engaging in discussions on regional energy cooperation, national energy transition, green and low-carbon development, and providing valuable insights.
He emphasized the importance of enhancing institutional mechanisms to strengthen collaborative foundations, focusing on pivotal energy projects to expedite clean transitions, and prioritizing technological innovation to drive the high-quality development of clean energy.
Wang expressed POWERCHINA's commitment to supporting the SCO in its endeavor to become a global leader, model, and collaborative platform for green energy cooperation..
Several project agreements between POWERCHINA and SCO member countries were announced as outcomes of the event.
Wang engaged in discussions with key figures, including Dipak Khadka, Minister of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation of Nepal; Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan; and Battogtokh Choijilsuren, Minister of Energy of Mongolia.
He also participated in the unveiling ceremony of the China-Pakistan Joint Research Center for Clean Energy Development and Utilization,and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Shahid Ahmed Khan, Consul General of Pakistan in Shanghai.
