The FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) Asia Pacific Mid-Year Conference 2025, sponsored by POWERCHINA and organized by the Association of Consulting Engineers Pakistan (ACEP), was held from July 15 to 17 in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The event brought together professionals from over 20 countries, as well as distinguished guests from international institutions such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.

POWERCHINA participated in the event planning and discussions on topics including "Future Development of the Engineering Industry”, "Sustainable Infrastructure Construction”, and "Technological Innovation and Green Transformation”, sharing its experiences in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Its landmark projects in Pakistan, such as the Tarbela Hydropower Plant, the Port Qasim Power Plant, and the Dawood Wind Power Project, were highlighted for their localized construction practices and sustainable development principles.

Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of Planning and Development of Pakistan, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, emphasizing the significance of the conference in advancing regional engineering industry development and enhancing the professional competence of consulting engineers.

POWERCHINA has strengthened its collaboration network with the engineering community in Pakistan and neighboring countries, laying a solid foundation for future participation in key projects such as new energy power stations, smart grids, and cross-border transportation hubs.

The event enhances POWERCHINA's brand influence in the international engineering consulting field and facilitates the establishment of a multi-level cooperation mechanism covering government agencies, international organizations, and industry associations.

As a steadfast participant of the Belt and Road Initiative, POWERCHINA will continue to collaborate with countries in the Asia-Pacific and South Asia regions to carry out more benchmark projects through mutual consultation, construction, and sharing, thereby contributing to regional economic and social development and improving livelihoods.
