POWERCHINA employees are engaged in efforts to protect the Malayan tapir.

A green public welfare event themed "Together for Malayan Tapir" took place on Aug 16 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The event brought together notable figures such as Dr David Magintan, assistant director of the Ex-situ Conservation Division from Department of Wildlife and National Parks Peninsular Malaysia, and Zhou Jiayi, president of POWERCHINA Asia Pacific.
POWERCHINA employees also participated, contributing to creating a suitable habitat for the Malayan tapir.
With only about 2,500 wild Malayan tapirs remaining worldwide, the species is classified as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
This event aimed to support the restoration of their habitat through practical activities, including plants saplings for the Tapir Food Bank Program, visits to wildlife conservation centers, and interactive experiences designed to raise public awareness about tapir conservation efforts.
POWERCHINA's involvement in this initiative underscores its commitment to ecological protection and reflects the collaborative efforts of China and Malaysia in advancing environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The company remains dedicated to integrating into communities, fulfilling its social responsibilities, and contributing to its sustainable development goals in Malaysia.
