The second phase of the Kicevo-Ohrid Motorway opens to traffic.

The second phase of the Kicevo-Ohrid Motorway in North Macedonia, built by POWERCHINA, opened on Sept 7.

The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, who delivered a keynote address.

Also in attendance were Aleksandar Nikoloski, deputy prime minister and minister of transport and communications, He Binghua, commercial counselor from the Chinese Embassy in North Macedonia, and Koce Trajanovski, acting director of the Public Enterprise for State Roads.

Prime Minister Mickoski praised the opening of the Motorway's second phase, highlighting its potential to revitalize the regions along its path by fostering new tourism opportunities and economic growth.

He noted that this milestone is poised to attract increased investment, tourism, and broader opportunities for North Macedonia. Mickoski thanked the project team for their dedication and said he looks forward to the high-quality completion of the remaining phases.

This opening represents another significant achievement following the initial section's launch on July 13. POWERCHINA has demonstrated excellent organizational skills and a strong commitment to social responsibility. The company continues to play a pivotal role in driving infrastructure development and economic growth in North Macedonia.
