The commissioning ceremony for the Nyagatare-Rukomo Road Rehabilitation and Upgrade Project in Rwanda, constructed by POWERCHINA, was held on Oct 9.

Representatives from the Rwanda Transport Development Agency, Arab Bank, the supervisory units, and relevant heads of the project team attended the event to witness the completion and opening of the project.

As a key infrastructure project in the local area, the project's construction content covers approximately 2.93 million cubic meters of earthwork excavation and backfilling, 256,000 cu m of natural granular material base course, 192,000 cu m of crushed stone base course, the construction of 116 pipe culverts, 60 box culverts, two bridges, and auxiliary facilities such as 140 kilometers of drainage ditches and retaining walls.

The project upgraded the original dirt road to a high-standard asphalt concrete road, improving road traffic capacity and service life, making it easier for residents to travel along the route, and bolstering regional economic development.

The commissioning ceremony included several infrastructure projects funded by the Arab Bank, and the selection of the Nyagatare-Rukomo Road Project as the main venue reflects its importance and demonstration role in Rwanda's transportation sector.

The completion of the project improved local transportation conditions and established a strong brand image locally, further demonstrating POWERCHINA's reliability in the field of overseas infrastructure construction.
