POWERCHINA completes Bolivia's largest hydropower station.

Recently, POWERCHINA officially signed the handover minutes for Section II of Bolivia's Ivirizu Hydropower Station Project with representatives of the project owner and supervisory unit, marking the project's formal acceptance and successful completion.

The project is located in Totora, Cochabamba, and is the largest hydropower station with the largest installed capacity in Bolivia to date. POWERCHINA is responsible for the construction of the roller-compacted concrete gravity dam in Section I, as well as the diversion tunnel project, access roads, primary and secondary water intake hubs, and supporting metal structure works, operating camps in Section II.

The project holds a pivotal role in Bolivia's energy landscape. Its successful construction marks a significant step in the country's energy transition strategy and has a profound influence on the widespread adoption of renewable energy.
