The signing and unveiling ceremony for the first China-Africa Joint Medical Center was held on Nov 12 at the China-Guinea Friendship Hospital, which was built by POWERCHINA.

The China-Africa Joint Medical Center is the first joint medical institution co-built by China and African countries. Phase II of the China-Guinea Friendship Hospital is a key livelihood project aided by the Chinese government in Guinea, and currently stands as the medical institution with the highest medical standards in the country.

Phase II of the China-Guinea Friendship Hospital includes the construction of a new medical technology building, a comprehensive medical building, new functional rooms, a covered corridor connecting Phase I and Phase II, a wastewater treatment plant, and other ancillary facilities.

From August 2023 to July 2025, the project team overcame numerous challenges. They addressed 116 maintenance issues of various kinds, ensuring that Phase II of the China-Guinea Friendship Hospital was able to operate normally.

At the same time, they compiled maintenance manuals and trained Guinean technical personnel capable of independent operation. This improved the level of facility support for China-aid hospitals, contributing strength to enhancing the sustainability and influence of China-aid medical projects.
