The delegation of the China-Brazil electric power and energy exchange cooperation workshop and POWERCHINA discussed power technologies.
A delegation of 34 participants from the China-Brazil electric power and energy exchange cooperation workshop visited POWERCHINA on Nov 18.
The workshop, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by POWERCHINA, included participants from Brazil's Ministry of Mines and Energy, power industry regulatory, operational, and research institutions, as well as renowned power companies.
The workshop aims to promote bilateral cooperation in energy and electric power technology, foster collaboration in Brazil's hydropower, new energy, energy storage, pumped storage, transmission and distribution, and more, and establish a stable, efficient, and sustainable cooperative relationship between the two countries.
During the meeting, the workshop participants engaged in discussions with the company on issues of concern, focusing on synergy and integration between power projects and local communities, and the comparative analysis of the advantages and applicable scenarios for pumped-storage hydropower (PSH) and battery energy storage technologies.
They also discussed the potential of hydrogen energy in addressing climate change, development plans for new energy fields such as concentrated solar power and offshore wind power, and China's practical experience in the field of long-distance power transmission.
