Representatives of Poland and POWERCHINA attend the opening ceremony of the project.
The S6 Expressway LOT2 Project, constructed by POWERCHINA, was officially opened to traffic on Dec 22.
The opening ceremony was held at the project site, located at the border between Pomeranian Voivodeship and West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Polish representatives highly praised the S6 Expressway for its significant role in improving regional transportation and promoting economic and social development, while also commending the project's high-quality and high-standard completion.
Spanning approximately 22.89 kilometers, the project was constructed as a dual four-lane expressway. It included earthwork, asphalt concrete pavement, bridge structures, drainage systems, facility relocations, greenery, and various auxiliary works.
During construction, the project team strictly adhered to Polish and EU standards, with a strong emphasis placed on environmental protection. Multiple optimized designs and refined construction measures were implemented in areas such as wildlife crossings, noise barriers, drainage systems, and landscape integration, achieving harmony between transportation infrastructure and the natural environment.
As a key part of Poland's national expressway network, the S6 Expressway will facilitate east-west travel in northern Poland, further enhancing the overall efficiency of the road network.
