Peru's Gamarra School opens on Dec 31.
On Dec 31, Gamarra School, the last school in Package 8 of Peru's Bicentennial School Program, was officially put into operation, marking the completion and commissioning of all 25 schools constructed by POWERCHINA under the program.
Peru's Bicentennial School Program involves the construction of 75 schools and is expected to benefit more than 500,000 students. This significant livelihood initiative was launched by the Peruvian government to commemorate the 200th anniversary of independence, promote educational equity, and enhance infrastructure development.
As the only school built in the Cusco Region, Gamarra School faced a tight construction schedule and complex coordination challenges during implementation, involving multiple critical tasks such as construction organization, equipment installation, completion acceptance, and pre-commissioning preparations.
The team made overall arrangements for the construction plan, refined key milestones, and continuously strengthened on-site management and process control to ensure the orderly connection and synchronized progress of all works.
In the final stage of the project, the team effectively addressed challenges such as personnel adjustments and material coordination, ensuring the project was completed on schedule and met the requirements for commissioning.
The successful implementation of Peru's Bicentennial School Program not only demonstrates POWERCHINA's strong overseas contract execution capabilities and brand strength, but also lays a solid foundation for the continued deepening of cooperation between China and Peru in areas such as livelihood projects and educational cooperation.
POWERCHINA will continue to actively participate in Peru's education and infrastructure construction, delivering more benefits to the local communities.
