Dodoma Msalato International Airport is expected to improve the transportation network in Dodoma when completed.
Tanzania's Minister of Transport Makame Mbarawa led a delegation to visit the Dodoma Msalato International Airport Project, constructed by POWERCHINA, on Jan 14.
The delegation inspected the project's construction progress, including the runway, taxiways, and apron. After receiving the project performance report, Mbarawa expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality.
He called for in-depth cooperation among all relevant parties — including the road bureau, aviation administration, fire bureau, meteorological bureau, supervisors, and contractors — to ensure the project's successful completion and smooth operation.
Dodoma Msalato International Airport is a 4E-grade international airport and a strategic project under Tanzania's 2025 National Development Vision. Once completed, the airport is expected to handle 1.5 million passengers annually, meeting the transportation needs of Tanzania's capital, Dodoma, strengthening the regional aviation network, and boosting local tourism and trade.
