Representatives from 138 countries, regions, and international organizations visit the construction site of the Construction of buildings for the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO Belgrade Project.
The Construction of buildings for the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO Belgrade Project in Serbia, constructed by POWERCHINA, hosted an international delegation of over 600 participants, including representatives from the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), government officials from different countries, industry experts, and corporate delegates.
The Belgrade Exhibition Center is the main venue for EXPO Belgrade 2027 and a key cooperation project between China and Serbia. Scheduled to run from May to August 2027, this event will mark the first international expo held in the Western Balkans. To date, over 150 countries have confirmed their participation.
Representing 138 countries, regions, and international organizations, the delegation learned about the project’s construction progress, as well as the venue's planning and functional layout. Delegates spoke highly of the project's rapid advancement and expressed great anticipation for the upcoming expo.
A representative from Spain remarked that the venue's construction showcases a high level of professional expertise and is expected to become a benchmark in the global exhibition industry.
In fluent Chinese, a representative from Cape Verde expressed hope that the expo will enhance the international visibility of African island nations and promote win-win development.
A Colombian representative hoped to use the center as a platform to strengthen cultural exchanges between Latin America and Europe in fields like sports and music, echoing the expo's theme.
A Japanese representative stated that the center will become a new landmark for Belgrade, boosting urban development and providing a high-quality platform for participating nations.
A POWERCHINA representative from the construction site stated that the project team will continue to operate with a strong sense of responsibility and mission. By adhering to safety protocols and quality standards, the team aims to further enhance construction efficiency and ensure a high-quality, on-time delivery. This will provide solid support for EXPO Belgrade 2027 and continue to deepen practical cooperation between China and Serbia under the Belt and Road Initiative.
