POWERCHINA and Hong Kong DSD sign framework contract.

POWERCHINA signed the Framework Contract for Building and Civil Maintenance and Minor Works to the Hong Kong Drainage Services Department (DSD) Plants and Facilities (2026-2030) (Contract F1-F2) on March 20, marking another breakthrough for the company in Hong Kong's water infrastructure operation and maintenance (O&M) sector.

Hong Kong DSD is responsible for the operation and maintenance of over 400 structures and auxiliary facilities across the region and has been procuring maintenance-related works since 2012. The scope of this newly signed contract includes civil maintenance and minor construction for all categories of existing and future plants and facilities.

These cover core water infrastructures such as sewage treatment plants and various pumping stations, as well as related maintenance sites within the contract area, and serve as a vital component of Hong Kong's water infrastructure O&M system.

The contract will further refine the comprehensive O&M guarantee system for Hong Kong's water infrastructure, enhance the safe and stable operation of water facilities, and strengthen essential livelihood services, including flood prevention, drainage, and sewage treatment, providing a solid infrastructural foundation for Hong Kong's ecological improvement and high-quality urban development.

Since entering the Hong Kong engineering and contracting market in 2019, POWERCHINA has completed the Hong Kong International Airport Third Runway Project and is currently executing several major infrastructure projects, including the Relocation Project of Diamond Hill Fresh and Salt Water Service Reservoirs to Caverns, the East Coast Boardwalk Project, the Kwong Wah Hospital Redevelopment Project (Phase 2), the Tsuen Tsing Interchange Improvement Project, and the Stormwater Storage Plan at Sha Tin Park and Tai Po Old Market.

Through its high-quality performance, POWERCHINA has demonstrated the responsibility of a central government-owned enterprise, contributing to the prosperity, stability, and healthy development of Hong Kong while earning frequent accolades from the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and project owners.
