The UAE finals of the 2026 "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for university, secondary, and primary school students were held on June 6 at Zayed University's Dubai campus. Following its co-hosting of the event last year, POWERCHINA was once again invited to participate as a co-organizer.
As the flagship competition for Chinese language learners worldwide, the Chinese Bridge has a 30-year history and is hailed as the "Olympics of Chinese language learning". This year's competition in the UAE division saw a record-breaking number of participants, demonstrating the vitality of Chinese language education in the UAE.
At the finals, contestants showcased their Chinese language proficiency and cultural understanding through various forms, including speeches, calligraphy, singing and dancing, shadow puppetry, and bianlian (face-changing).
Zeng Jixin, China's ambassador to the UAE, commended POWERCHINA for its continued support of the competition, stating that Chinese enterprises are an important force in promoting people-to-people bonds between China and the UAE. He also expressed hope that POWERCHINA would continue to help drive cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
POWERCHINA will continue to support the UAE's "Hundred Schools Project"" for Chinese language education, contribute to the development of Chinese language education in the UAE, and promote China-UAE cultural exchanges and non-governmental friendly cooperation.
