Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa recently attended the inauguration ceremony for the Santo Domingo Water Supply Project, constructed by POWERCHINA, and inspected its operations.

Located in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas Province, the project is a vital livelihood initiative for POWERCHINA in Ecuador and a tangible outcome of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The project, which includes an intake structure, a distribution pumping station, a water treatment plant, water pipelines, and supporting facilities, has been handed over and is now operational, providing more reliable, safe, and clean drinking water to approximately 700,000 people. This relieves long-standing local water shortages, improves urban infrastructure, enhances public health, and drives sustainable regional socio-economic growth.

The project team maintained high execution standards throughout construction, utilizing their technical and managerial expertise. Their commitment to engineering quality and social responsibility earned widespread praise from both the client and the local community, strengthening the company's brand image.

POWERCHINA will continue to participate in Ecuador's infrastructure and livelihood sectors, deepening practical cooperation with the local government to further economic development, improve public well-being, and strengthen friendship and cooperation between China and Ecuador.
