POWERCHINA ranks first on the 2026 ENR "Top 150 Global Design Firms" list.
The 2026 editions of the Engineering News-Record (ENR) "Top 150 Global Design Firms" and "Top 225 International Design Firms" lists were released on Aug 10.
POWERCHINA once again claimed first place on the "Top 150 Global Design Firms" list, marking its seventh consecutive year at the top. On the "Top 225 International Design Firms" list, the company rose to 10th place – a five-spot jump from 2025 – and secured a top-10 position in all four key regional markets: Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
As a global leader in clean, low-carbon energy, water resources, and environmental construction, a key force in global infrastructure connectivity; and a leading enterprise in serving the Belt and Road Initiative, POWERCHINA boasts comprehensive engineering technology service systems, well-established technical standards, and robust innovation frameworks.
The company has planned and designed over 80 percent of China's river basins and hydropower stations, along with more than 65 percent of its wind power and solar power projects.
POWERCHINA ranks 10th on the 2026 ENR Top 225 International Design Firms list.
POWERCHINA is supported by a strong pool of talent and advanced technology. It currently includes one Chinese Academy of Engineering academician, six National Engineering and Design Masters, two National Outstanding Engineer Award winners, one National Outstanding Engineer Team, and 95 national high-level senior science and technology professionals.
It also operates 18 national R&D institutions, 116 provincial and ministerial-level R&D platforms, eight academician workstations, and 18 postdoctoral research stations. The "Top 150 Global Design Firms" list ranks firms by their total worldwide design revenue, reflecting their overall strength. Meanwhile, the "Top 225 International Design Firms" list focuses on design revenue from outside their home countries, highlighting their ability to expand internationally.
