Francisco Juana PV Project is expected to supply stable and reliable clean energy to local people.
POWERCHINA's Francisco Juana PV Project in Colombia obtained the certificate of acceptance of works issued by the project owner on Sept 18. Having fulfilled all contractual obligations, the project was fully completed and handed over ahead of schedule.
Located in the Caldas Department of Colombia, the project comprises Francisco (Plant F) and Juana (Plant D) solar power plants, with a total installed capacity of 15.99 MW. The construction covered the entire EPC process, including design, procurement, international logistics, construction and installation, commissioning, grid connection, and handover.
Once operational, the project will generate approximately 22.48 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually. This will supply stable and reliable clean energy to the local area, relieving regional power shortages. It will also optimize the local energy structure, boosting livelihood improvements and economic development.
Throughout the project, the team strictly implemented the QHSE management system, upholding the bottom lines of production safety and environmental protection. The entire build was completed with zero safety incidents and zero environmental complaints.
The project also championed localization by creating over 200 direct jobs, with local staff members making up 95 percent of the workforce, earning high praise from nearby communities.
This project is POWERCHINA's second new energy plant completed and handed over in Colombia. Its early delivery further solidifies the company's foothold in the country and paves the way for further expansion into the Latin American clean energy market.
