POWERCHINA hosted a Mid-Autumn Festival cultural experience event on Sept 25 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Featuring a Chinese language and culture class alongside a mooncake-making session, the event brought Chinese and international employees together to celebrate the holiday through learning and hands-on activities.
A Chinese teacher delivered an engaging cultural class titled "The Mid-Autumn Festival: Chinese Language and Culture." Centered on the core concept of reunion, the teacher explained the festival's origins and traditional customs such as admiring the full moon and eating mooncakes.
By sharing classic poetic lines like "May we live long and share the moon's beauty even thousands of miles apart," the teacher highlighted the moon's emotional significance as a symbol of longing and connection.
From the ancient legend of Chang'e to China's lunar exploration program named after her, the blend of ancient and modern tales sparked intense interest among the international employees.
During the mooncake workshop, a pastry chef demonstrated techniques before participants made their own custom treats. As they picked up a traditional skill, employees connected and collaborated, deepening their understanding of one another's cultures. The event wrapped up with everyone holding up their handmade mooncakes for a group photo, bringing the celebration to a perfect close.
