Cauchari I, II, III Solar Project in Jujuy province is located in the southern Jujuy Province of Argentina. The project includes Cauchari I, II, III photovoltaic projects and a 345kV booster station, with a total designed installed capacity of 300MW, covering an area of about 700 hectares. The project’s estimated of annual power generation capacity and annual carbon dioxide emission reduction is expected to be 720,500MWh and 325,000 tons respectively, and the service life will be 25 years.

The region where project site located is more than 4000 meters above sea level and has extremely superior sunshine resources. It is the largest photovoltaic project in Argentina and is one of photovoltaic projects with highest altitude in the world. The project is jointly undertaken by POWERCHINA and Shanghai Electric Power Construction Co.,Ltd.. The total contract amount of the project is 390 million U.S. dollars, and the project was financed by the Export-Import Bank of China (85%) and the Jujuy Provincial Government (15%). The project started on April 26th, 2018, and obtained the generation commercial operation authorization on September 26th, 2020. The project will bring about 50 million U.S. dollars per year of power generation revenue to Jujuy Province, laying a solid foundation for the economic development of the province.
