POWERCHINA entered the Pakistan market in 1987 and invested in the Port Qasim 1320MW Coal-fired Power Station and Dawood 50MW Wind Farm, with a total investment of USD 2.2 billion. Presently, more than 13,000 Pakistani staff enjoy personal growth and development in POWERCHINA. POWERCHINA has always committed to working with the local government and partners to form favorable cooperation and a win-win situation, actively building a shared community between China and Pakistan, which had received high praise from successive governments, sectors of society, and ordinary people of Pakistan.
Port Qasim 2X660MW Coal-fired Power Plant Project is the first energy project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, with a total installed capacity of 1.32 million kilowatts and an average annual generating capacity of about 9 billion KWH. It adopts supercritical coal-fired power generation technology and uses mature and high-quality Chinese equipment. It has the advantages of high unit efficiency, low power generation heat consumption, advanced technology, energy conservation, and environmental protection, and its emission standards reach the world's advanced level. While providing power and energy for Pakistan, "Zero" industrial wastewater is discharged, and 125 acres of mangroves are transplanted and planted, which protects the local marine ecosystem and ecological environment. The project quality and unit performance have set the best record in the history of the same period in Pakistan, effectively demonstrating "Chinese speed" and "Chinese quality" to all sectors of society. In 2021, it delivered about 9 billion kWh of clean electrical energy into Pakistan's national grid.
Hydrochina Dawood Wind Power Project is one of the first 14 key energy development projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). It is jointly invested by Hydrochina International Engineering Co., LTD., a subsidiary of Power China, and Mr. Rafique Dawood of Pakistan. The total installed capacity of Dawood Wind Power Project is 49,500 kW, and the designed annual power generation is 130 million kWh. The clean electrical energy produced every year by the project can power 100,000 households in Pakistan and reduce carbon emissions by 122,000 tons per year. In 2021, it delivered about 120 million kWh of clean electrical energy to Pakistan's national grid, contributing to solving the power shortage, economic development, environmental improvement, and people's living standards in Pakistan.
Diamer-Bhasha Dam Project is a vital project for water storage, and power generation, increasing the viability of Tarbella Dam, creating job opportunities, and further strengthening the economy in Pakistan. Upon completion, it will be the tallest roller compact concrete (RCC) dam in the world. Diamer-Basha Dam Project ( Contract No. MW-1) is executed by the joint venture of POWERCHINA and FWO. It is known as The "Three Gorges Project" of Pakistan. On 11 May 2020, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan announced the official launch of the project. After completion, the project will provide 18 billion KWH of clean and cheap electricity and 10 billion cubic meters of profit storage capacity every year, which is of great significance to downstream agricultural irrigation and new hydroelectric power generation, prevent flood hazards, promote the development of related construction industry, increase employment opportunities and promote local economic development.
In recent years, POWERCHINA has also undertaken green energy projects including the 4th and 5th extension of the Tarbela Hydropower Station, the solar and wind power projects in Sindh, and contributed to the Clean Green Pakistan Movement.
POWERCHINA has shouldered its Corporate Social Responsibilities by being enthusiastically involved in local public charities(including building a school and a dam) and providing employment and skill training opportunities for the people of Pakistan. Multiple batches of epidemic prevention materials and funds were donated to Pakistan National Disaster Management Authority and other institutions to fight again the pandemic. Two cricket leagues in 2016 and 2021 respectively are sponsored by POWERCHINA. The cricket league has become a platform for cultural exchanges and friendship between Chinese and Pakistani employees.

1. Wrocław Floodway System Treatment Project

The hydraulic and construction works are aimed at increasing the flowing capacity of the Odra river beds and improvement of flood protection for the Wrocław Floodway System (WFS).
The scope of work includes the following: adaptation of the City Canal to accommodate flood waters, reconstruction of the Odra river bed from the Poznańskie rail bridges to the estuary of Widawa, and adaptation of the Rędzin barrage to accommodate flood waters.
2. Budowa linii 400 kV Chełm-Lublin Systemowa/ Construction of 400 kV Chełm-Lublin typical line

The line will run through one voivodeship (Lubelskie), three poviats (Lubelski, Łęczna and Chełm) and nine communes (Niemce, Wólka, Spiczyn, Łęczna, Puchaczów, Cyców, Siedliszcze, Wierzbica, Chełm). It will connect the existing Chełm station (CHS) and the existing Lublin Systemowa station.
The construction of the double-circuit 400 kV Chełm - Lublin Systemowa line is an important element of the planned expansion of the transmission network in the south-eastern part of Poland. This task is directly related to the planned expansion of the 400/110 kV Lublin Systemowa substation and the 220/110 kV Chełm substation.
The 400 kV Chełm - Lublin System line will become - after construction - an important element of the National Power System. It will ensure the stability of the PPS operation and the security of electricity supply to the distribution system through which energy is supplied to consumers. These factors make it an investment of supra-local importance.
The planned line is to be built in a 400 kV power transmission configuration with the use of double-track poles along its entire length. It will be equipped with phase conductors for one 400 kV circuit and two optical fiber lightning conductors (OPGW). The second 400 kV circuit will remain unfurnished.
The total length of the line is about 70 kilometers, with a total of 177 tower foundations, 177 steel towers (about 6,500 tons), 615 kilometers of conductor, 140 kilometers of OPGW, and more than 60 conflict reconstructions.
3. Project on upgrading the E75 Line section from Czyżew to Białystok

The main construction is to upgrade the existing 71.24-kilometer double-track electrified railway from Czyżew to Białystok in Podlaskie, northeastern Poland. It will be designed as a double-track standard gauge of 1,435mm, with concrete sleepers, seamless track, 100-meter rail onsite welding, speed of 160 km/h, electric traction locomotive and the communication signal system of the European Railway Traffic Management System.
A key transport hub to Belarus and Lithuania, the project is the first railway constructed by a Chinese enterprise in Europe. Following the entry and stabilization of the Polish road construction market by Chinese enterprises, it is of great significance to the infrastructure construction cooperation between China and Poland.
The E75 railway will adapt to the general standards of the railway lines in the European Union countries, improve the railway capacity of Podlaskie and the international Baltic railway connection and enhance the competitiveness of the railway transportation, thereby effectively promoting Poland's social and economic development.
