​Wroclaw Floodway Regulation Project, Poland

The Wroclaw Floodway Regulation Project is located in the Odra River basin, Wroclaw city of Lower Silesia Voivodship, Poland, with contract value of 88.68 million dollars. The project was commenced on November 15th, 2012 and completed on January24th, 2018, undertaken by STECOL. The completion of the project has not only improved the city's flood resistance capacity from 50 years to 100 years, but also upgraded navigation capability to Class III, enabling maximum 1,000-ton ship transported through the channel with an addition of 100-year old historic gates and locks being restored to their former beauty and being given a new life. The completion of the project has dramatically increased flood protection capacity, as well as the navigation capacity of the Odra River and improved the city landscape along the canals, which consequently bring considerable economic benefits to local inland waterway transport. The city canal section also has become a new tourism and leisure attraction, which has been well-praised by local people and media.

The implementation of the project has deepened the cooperation and communication between China and Poland. It also laid a solid foundation for POWERCHINA in the development of infrastructure market of Poland and European Union.
